It's an interesting deal, and one that has been in the works for a while now. Microsoft has finally gotten something on paper after years of courting Yahoo! It still won't put too much of a dent in google's market share of the search world, but will certainly raise some needed ad revenue for Microsoft, who will take 88% of the ad money posted on yahoo search result pages. Yahoo will also be able to more fully capitalize on the search-history and profiling it conducts on its users.

It's good. I think yahoo will boost as soon as the deal succeed. Google would get a lot of headache with this.

I would love not to use Yahoo in protest, but the reality is, I'd use it, privately curse it, decide to look for alternatives, and move on.
